El hair comb es una figura de estilización conducida en Bachata Sensual — el estilo de abrazo cerrado y contacto corporal codificado en Cádiz, España, a finales de los años 2000 — en la que el líder eleva la propia mano de la seguidora para deslizarla hacia atrás a través de su cabello. Aplicando una suave presión ascendente en la muñeca, él guía los dedos de ella desde la sien hacia atrás sobre la corona, mientras la seguidora peina su propio cabello y un lento movimiento de cabeza y torso acompaña el gesto. El líder moldea la figura en lugar de imponerla: ofrece el camino y la seguidora lo completa, de modo que el movimiento depende de la calidad de la conexión entre los bailadores más que del control muscular. Dado que se trata de una estilización superpuesta a un abrazo ininterrumpido y no a un patrón de desplazamiento, pertenece a una tradición de contacto completamente distinta de las formas de pareja sin contacto, como la cumbia colombiana, en la que los bailadores danzan separados y jamás se tocan.[1]
En las escenas de bachata sensual de habla hispana, la figura recibe el nombre de peinada (o peinado), aunque internacionalmente se la conoce casi en todas partes por su nombre en inglés, el "hair comb" — una denominación que persiste incluso dentro de clases no impartidas en inglés, pequeño indicador de cómo el estilo se propagó festival a festival y taller a taller desde Cádiz hasta recorrer el circuito global de bachata. Los maestros suelen situar la peinada en una vuelta, deslizando la mano por el cabello mientras la seguidora completa o sale de una rotación. Su timing es deliberadamente libre: en lugar de ceñirse a un solo tiempo, los bailadores extienden el deslizamiento a lo largo de una frase musical lenta superpuesta al paso básico lateral (1-2-3-tap, 5-6-7-tap), dejando que la música — y no un conteo fijo — determine cuánto tiempo permanece la mano en el cabello.

From a one- or two-hand hold, the leader floats the follower's hand upward with light pressure at her wrist or forearm, tracing a path from her temple over the crown so her own fingertips comb back through her hair; he leads the speed, not the shape, and matches the music's phrasing rather than counting a beat. The mirror-foot basic continues underneath (leader to his left, follower to her right), with the leader staying grounded over his standing foot to anchor the lift.
Seguidor
The follower keeps her arm relaxed and lets the lead carry her hand up to her own hairline, then sweeps her fingertips back over her head, optionally layering a body wave (head, then chest, then hips) on the way down. She holds her own balance over her standing foot, mirrors the basic on the opposite foot from the leader, and follows his tempo without pushing or rushing the sweep.

Errores comunes
- Leader pulling the hand up sharply or forcing the path instead of a soft wrist-led guide, breaking the follower's balance.
- Follower powering the sweep herself or anticipating, instead of letting the lead carry her hand to her hairline.
- Tensing the shoulder so the arm cannot travel smoothly from temple to crown.
- Rushing the sweep onto a single beat instead of stretching it across the slow phrase.
- Collapsing the standing-leg posture during the body wave and losing the center.
