El Tornado es una figura rotatoria en pareja del casino cubano en la que ambos bailadores orbitan alrededor de un eje central compartido, en lugar de que solo uno de los dos gire.[1] Se asocia principalmente con la Rueda de Casino, la forma grupal circular en la que un cantador anuncia figuras con nombre que todas las parejas ejecutan al unísono.[2] Funcionalmente, el Tornado es menos un paso fijo único que una técnica rotatoria versátil que se combina con otras figuras del casino, razón por la cual los instructores documentan numerosas variaciones del Tornado.[1] En su forma básica, la pareja se toma de dos manos o de manos cruzadas y realiza una espiral en rotación continua, bailada a tiempo en el 1, antes de resolver a posición cerrada lista para la siguiente llamada.[1] Dado que regresa con la misma pareja y la misma orientación, la figura se interpreta como una espiral de adorno más que como un cambio de pareja.[1] Está catalogado entre las figuras estándar de rueda en bases de datos de movimientos de la comunidad[3] y se enseña dentro de los planes de estudio estructurados de casino y rueda.[4] El nombre pertenece al léxico estandarizado en español del casino cubano,[5] por lo que la llamada viaja con el baile desde La Habana hasta Miami y a las escenas de rueda a nivel internacional, donde el término se utiliza prácticamente sin cambios.

Across the first measure (1-2-3) he turns the pair roughly a half-turn (~180°), keeping an elastic frame so both orbit one axis; across the second measure (5-6-7) he completes the rotation to ~360°, bringing the couple back to face the same point and resolving to closed position for the next call.

The follower mirrors the leader's feet (answering on her right as he leads on his left) and travels around the shared center rather than spinning in place. Across the first measure (1-2-3) she covers roughly the first half-turn (~180°); across the second (5-6-7) she completes to ~360°, keeping frame tension and arriving back in closed position facing the leader. The rotation, not arm-pulling, carries her around the circle.

- Spinning in place instead of orbiting the shared center, causing collision or a collapsing circle.
- Pulling with the arms to drag the partner around rather than letting the rotation move both bodies.
- Rushing the rotation ahead of the music instead of distributing roughly a half-turn per measure on 1-2-3 and 5-6-7.
- Leader turning the follower but failing to travel himself, breaking the symmetric 'tornado' orbit.
