ConteoCuban casino, a tiempo (on 1): both partners break on 1 and again on 5 — two breaks across the eight-count. The figure spans two measures; the showcasing turn is led across 5-6-7, and the full two-turn version carries a second turn into the following measure. Casino is danced on 1 and is not mapped to On2.
Líder
The leader begins from an open guapea hold (his left hand to her right). He breaks back on count 1 onto his left foot, recovers on 2-3, and starts to raise the joined hand. On the next measure (5-6-7) he leads the follower into a clockwise turn (to her right) beneath the raised arm — opening her about a quarter on 5 and completing a full ~360° by 7 as she travels around him. The full two-turn version repeats the lead for a second ~360° on the following measure (~720° total). He keeps the frame light, letting her showcase the turn rather than hauling her around.
Seguidor
The follower mirrors the leader: she breaks back on count 1 onto her right foot and recovers on 2-3. As the joined hand rises she steps and turns clockwise (to her right) beneath it — about a quarter by 5, continuing to a full ~360° by 7 while traveling around the leader and spotting to keep balance. In the two-turn version she chains a second ~360° on the next measure, finishing re-faced to the leader, carrying posture and a brief admiring pause so the figure reads as a display.
Tiempo musicalComfortable across mid-tempo timba and son-based salsa, roughly 150-185 bpm; the two-turn version wants a little headroom, so the upper 180s and 190+ are the fast end where the showcase pause compresses. Sits naturally on the 1 (a tiempo).

Prerrequisitos
- Guapea / open-position Cuban basic
- Dile que no (basic partner-position change)
- Follower's clockwise turn beneath a raised arm
- On-1 (a tiempo) timing and circular (casino) travel
Ten cuidado
Errores comunes
- Leader raising the lead hand too late or too low, so the follower cannot clear the turn beneath it.
- Under-rotating the turn so the follower stops short of re-facing the leader instead of completing the full ~360° (and ~720° in the two-turn version).
- Pulling or muscling the follower around rather than leading the turn from the raised hand, which kills the showcase quality.
- Collapsing the two-turn version into a single rushed turn, or dropping the 'vacila' look, so the figure loses its display character.
- Treating the figure as a linear, slotted turn instead of traveling around in the round as casino requires.
- Follower failing to spot across consecutive turns, leading to loss of balance.

- Enchufla — a different casino turn (hook/plug turn with a hand change), often confused with led-turn figures.
- Cross-body lead (LA On1 / NY On2 slot styles) — a distinct slotted figure, not the circular Vacilala.
- 'Paso cruzado' / 'cruzado' — Spanish for 'cross step' (footwork), not a name for this figure.
