“My husband and I initially enjoyed taking classes here, however, we had a concerning experience with one of the instructors, who made a few comments that felt stereotypical and microaggressive toward me. We attempted to address this with the instructor directly, but unfortunately, it didn’t seem to lead to any change. We then decided to take a break from classes and communicated our concerns to another instructor, who kindly passed them along to the manager. A full month went by with no follow-up regarding the situation, we were only contacted to see if we’d like to resume classes. We were disappointed that our concerns about the inappropriate comments were not addressed or acknowledged in any meaningful way. It’s unfortunate because we did enjoy the classes, but this experience made us question the studio’s commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all students. UPDATE: One of the owners, Craig, personally reached out to me and offered his sincerest apologies. He took the time to listen to my experience and addressed my concerns directly. Craig also spoke with the employees at the facility to help ensure that something like this does not happen again. I appreciate him reaching out and taking steps to improve the situation.”
