BAILAR
Quiet dance studio at golden hour — the floor Bailar's commitments honor

Our 2026 commitments

Latin dance gave us everything.
This is what we give back.

Bailar is a Latin dance events and studios app, built by dancers. Our community is Latino, and our responsibility is to the community that gave us the music, the movement, and the floors we love.

Social impact

Who we're publicly supporting, and why.

A split focus: one org that keeps the next generation on the floor, and one that addresses the broader priorities US Latino families surface in every 2025–2026 poll.

Dance education

Accent Dance NYC →

A 501(c)(3) teaching free salsa, bachata, merengue, and cumbia to 25,000+ kids across the NYC public-school system. Direct mission overlap with what we do: we help adults find the floor; Accent makes sure the next generation can step on it at all.

How Bailar supports

Public endorsement and in-app amplification — users, press, and audience directed toward their work.

Civil rights + arts

Hispanic Federation →

4-star Charity Navigator rating for 8 consecutive years, one of the largest Latino advocacy organizations in the US. Covers the priorities US Latino families are surfacing in every 2025–2026 poll: cost of living, immigration defense, and arts & culture.

How Bailar supports

Public endorsement and in-app amplification — users, press, and audience directed toward their work.

Amplification is the concrete lever. Bailar surfaces Latino-owned studios, instructors, and community fundraisers first, always — and we direct users, press, and audience toward the orgs we endorse. A small team’s most honest form of support.

Diversity, equity & inclusion

Built for the community that built the dance.

Bailar is a Latino-founded team building for a Spanish-dominant demographic that mainstream event-discovery apps underserve.

  • Four-locale parity at launch

The app ships in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French at parity — no primary/secondary locale hierarchy. 80+ additional locales are rolling out across the site.

  • Discovery bias we won't apologize for

Claimed Latino-owned studios and instructors rank above unclaimed ones in city and style search. Bailar is for a community; we feature the community first.

Career growth & learning

Founding 100 instructors: 5% for 6 months.

The first 100 Latin dance instructors to join Bailar pay a 5% platform commission for their first 6 months — about half the industry norm. Standard 10% after. Designed as an income-mobility head-start for working dance teachers, not a promo.

The commission rises to the standard 10% after the 6-month founding window, matching the rate for everyone after the first 100 slots close. Every founding instructor gets the full 6 months regardless of when they join within the first-100 cohort.
