Community Guidelines
What we expect from every member of the Bailar community.
Effective Date: April 6, 2026
Bailar is a community built around the joy of dance. These guidelines apply to all user interactions on the platform, including comments, reviews, direct messages, event listings, photos, videos, and profile content. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
1. RESPECT EVERYONE
Be kind and inclusive. The Bailar community spans many cultures, skill levels, ages, and backgrounds. Treat every member with respect, whether they are a beginner taking their first salsa class or a professional instructor.
No harassment or bullying. Do not threaten, intimidate, stalk, or harass any user. This includes repeated unwanted messages, aggressive behavior, and personal attacks.
No hate speech or discrimination. Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
2. KEEP IT SAFE
No sexual content or nudity. Profile photos, event images, comments, messages, and all shared media must be appropriate for a general audience. Artistic dance photography is welcome; explicit content is not.
No violence or threats. Do not post content that depicts, promotes, or threatens violence against any person or group.
Protect minors. Any content that exploits or endangers minors will result in immediate account termination and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
No doxxing. Do not share another person’s private information (home address, phone number, workplace) without their explicit consent.
3. BE HONEST
No fake profiles. Use your real identity. Do not impersonate other people, instructors, studios, or organizations.
Honest reviews. Studio and event reviews should reflect genuine personal experiences. Do not post fake reviews, pay for reviews, or review your own business.
No misleading event listings. Event information (date, time, location, price, style) must be accurate. Do not create fake events or misrepresent event details.
No scams or fraud. Do not use the platform to deceive others for financial gain or any other purpose.
4. RESPECT INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Share only what you own. Only upload photos, videos, and content that you created or have permission to share. Do not repost copyrighted music, choreography videos, or images without authorization.
Credit creators. When sharing content created by others (with permission), give appropriate credit.
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without permission, see our DMCA Policy.
5. NO SPAM OR COMMERCIAL ABUSE
No spam. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive comments, or promotional content to users who have not opted in.
No unauthorized advertising. Do not use comments, reviews, or messages to advertise products or services unrelated to the dance community without authorization.
No manipulation. Do not use bots, fake accounts, or automated tools to inflate engagement, followers, or event attendance numbers.
6. MESSAGING GUIDELINES
Consent matters. If someone does not respond to your message or asks you to stop, respect their wishes. Continued unwanted contact is harassment.
Keep it appropriate. Direct messages are subject to the same community standards as public content. Unsolicited sexual messages or images are prohibited.
No solicitation. Do not use messages to solicit personal information, money, or promote services outside the platform.
7. EVENT AND STUDIO CONDUCT
Accurate listings. Event organizers and studio owners must provide truthful information about their events, classes, pricing, and policies.
Fair reviews. Reviewers should be constructive and specific. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks against instructors or staff are not.
No retaliation. Event organizers and studio owners may not retaliate against users who leave honest negative reviews.
8. REPORTING AND ENFORCEMENT
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it using the in-app reporting tools or by emailing legal@bailar.site.
How we enforce:
(a) Warning: For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and remove the content.
(b) Temporary suspension: For repeated or moderate violations, your account may be temporarily suspended.
(c) Permanent ban: For severe violations (harassment, hate speech, threats, exploitation of minors, fraud), your account will be permanently terminated.
(d) Law enforcement referral: Where required by law or when user safety is at risk, we will report violations to law enforcement.
Bailar reserves the right to remove any content and terminate any account at its sole discretion, with or without notice.
