We had our private wedding dance sessions with Catherine. She is truly amazing! I had no prior dance experience, but she was able to make me understand all the important details and tricks through beautiful demonstrations and interesting (and highly accurate) metaphors. She is super friendly and patient. My husband and I have a really good time dancing and we always look forward to each of our session.

The instruction was fine but at times they had an elitist tone, which was a major turn off for a beginner level couple looking to primarily learn movement basics for a first dance. After our third session, we were told we “did not seem committed enough—” because as working professionals with busy schedules we were unable to drive across town for 45 minutes rehearsals 4 days a week for several months. “This will be the first time people see you as a married couple and it can be very telling of your relationship if you do not perform with good chemistry during your first dance.” Turns out your wedding guests aren’t competitive dance judges and you don’t get a score at the end of it. Who knew? 🤷‍♂️

My now husband gifted us two dance lessons as a Christmas present last year, with the thought that if it didn’t feel like the right fit, we wouldn’t need to continue. After our very first lesson with Catherine, we knew immediately that we wanted to keep going, and we ended up completing seven additional lessons before our wedding. Catherine is truly exceptional. It’s clear that this is her passion, and she pours her heart into every lesson. She made us both feel completely comfortable and confident, and she helped turn our wedding dance into something truly magical. I will forever be grateful to her. Not only for her talent and dedication, but for the unforgettable memory she gave us 🤍

We had such an amazing experience at Abayas’ Ballroom! Catherine is truly incredible — patient, encouraging, and so much fun to work with. She helped us feel confident and comfortable for our first dance, and it turned out absolutely perfect. Even the tiny hiccups felt effortless because of how well she prepared us. Our guests loved it, and it became one of our core memories from the wedding. We’re not dancers at all so we’re grateful for her guidance, professionalism, and warm energy. Highly recommend Abayas’ Ballroom to any couple wanting to feel amazing on their big day!

If you’re on the fence about taking dance lessons before your wedding—do it! Catherine was an absolute joy to work with and made the whole experience so fun. Neither of us are dancers, and we were nervous about being in the spotlight, but our first dance turned out to be one of the most special moments of the night. Our guests raved about it, and my husband even impressed his mom with his new skills. We couldn’t be more grateful—thank you for everything, Catherine!
