Storm Large: musician, actor, playwright, author, awesome. Storm shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, where despite just missing the finals, Storm built a fan base that follows her around the world to this day. Storm made her debut as guest vocalist with the band Pink Martini in April 2011, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She continues to perform with the band, being featured on their album Get Happy. What's happening at LPAC? From repairs, remodeling, and technical improvements, to filming spectacular streaming shows, this success story shows the hard work and dedication that was put forth to bring arts and entertainment back to the community during these trying times. Just after noon on Thursday, March 12, 2020, following two sold out Arts for Youth performances, LPAC, exercising an abundance of caution surrounding COVID-19, closed its doors and entered into what the performing arts world refers to as “a long intermission.” As the gravity of the pandemic grew and facing a closure of undetermined length, the City decided to accelerate a multi-stage improvement strategy already in process for the nearly 30-year-old facility. The goal was to utilize the closure to complete as many projects as time and budget would allow.
