  Where do I even start? My now husband and I were about a month out from our wedding. Although I had plans to start dance lessons earlier in the year, wedding planning and good ol’ procrastination got the best of us. It would’ve been very easy to say “Eh, let’s just do the best we can with what we know” and I’m sure it would have been nice. But we wanted to do a bit more than sway side to side in our first dance for 2 minutes I also wanted to have some steps to keep up with my Puerto Rican side of the family. 🎉 As soon as I contacted the dance center, I received a prompt text from the incredible Tayler, so excited to help us with our first dance and learning the extra intro steps to Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. She never made us feel like 3-4 weeks was too short of a time frame, and that gave us a lot of confidence that if we committed, this could be successful! Fast forward to our first dance lesson and our intro lesson was fantastic! We met with our main instructor Jesse and met Tayler, and they did a wonderful job of showing us some intro foxtrot moves and some bachata. We signed on for 10 lessons in 3 weeks, and although this was way more than we anticipated, it was SO WORTH IT (we even added on a couple of extra lessons at the end for extra practice) Our instructor Jesse IS PHENOMENAL. As a gay couple, we’re sometimes unsure if we will feel comfortable walking into such a public space. Brian and I were floored at how comfortable Jesse, the team and even the other students made us feel. We not only learned a whole routine for our wedding first dance (and we came in with basically no dance experience), but even learned those intro Spanish dance moves that truly helped during the wedding dancing. Jesse was so thorough! He not only created our whole dance from scratch, he worked with our custom song, was open to change when we didn’t feel comfortable with certain moves, was open to my ridiculous idea to include a funny moment, helped us prepare for all types of scenarios, and was all around so encouraging and just an incredible instructor. At our last dance lesson, he had us come in for a dress rehearsal and we even got to perform in front of other students. While this was terrifying at first…the amount of love, support, cheers and claps we received from the staff and other students almost moved us to tears. As a gay couple, we missed out on many things growing up, like dances. To be able to experience this in such a loving environment was incredibly powerful for us. It’s something I think we’ll always remember and it gave us so much confidence going into wedding day! I just want to say from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you Jesse (and your incredible partner Anastacia). thank you Tayler, and thank you Arthur Murray Dance Center for creating one of the most special moments of our wedding (our guests were raving about it!). We can’t wait to come back and give Shakira a run for her money 💃🏼🙌🏼

  My wife and I booked a 2-lesson pass for our first dance at our wedding. Best investment by far. The two 45min sessions helped create the perfect first dance and gave us both the confidence to help ease the stress of the wedding. If you have an upcoming wedding and want to wow the crowd, please book these folks.

  I joined the Arthur Murray Dance studio to challenge myself to learn tango and I love all the instructors and students! Individual classes are custom designed for your goals and the instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. The group classes are also super fun and I get to meet other students and share our love for dance and learning. Definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in learning to dance for a hobby, special occasion, or need an excuse to meet fun people!

  My husband and I have had a wonderful experience with the Gainesville and Ocala Arthur Murray Dance Studios! We first came for our wedding dance, which was very important to us, and we were so impressed that we decided to continue lessons even after the wedding. Every instructor we’ve worked with has been kind, clear, and engaging. They make each session fun, meaningful, and worthwhile. We highly recommend Arthur Murray to anyone looking to learn and enjoy dancing!

  I just started dancing at Arthur Murray as a new hobby and I’ve really enjoyed my time there. Everyone at the studio is very friendly and encouraging. I feel like I’ve learned and improved a lot after only a month of lessons.
