GoogleLisa, Lizeth, and Travis were top instructors at a leading dance studio, where I studied for five years. I rediscovered them after they opened their own studio this year and hired one of my favorite swing instructors, Adib Ma'ani-Hessari. Their new-student special — a month of unlimited group classes and three private lessons for $169 — is a terrific bargain. I took advantage of it in October, taking salsa, two-step, swing, and Lindy. Now I'm hooked on the vibe of collective energy and building something special from the ground up. As owner/instructors, they have a lot more freedom to develop lessons that work for their students and are dedicated to providing good value for us. They've taken over a former school on the portion of South Lamar below Loop 360 that is essentially the US 290 Frontage Road. They knocked down the walls and laid the floor themselves. It's as easy to get to as the place where they used to teach, but it's not in a glitzy mall. You have to know about it to find it, but if you're looking for the best, this is it.
