This video features Merrill and Krystine rehearsing for their duet in the upcoming Lines showcase. They will be presenting iconic tap dancer Buster Brown’s “Laura,” which he is believed to have choreographed for Manhattan Tap in the late ‘80s or early ‘90s. It has been passed down through the generations as a beloved piece of historical choreography ever since! Yesterday was the final day of the Intro to the Art of Lip Sync series, and the students shared what they’d been working on with a panel of “judges” from the community. Instructor Richard Elliot @rheddrhumm had supported the performers in developing confidence, stage presence, blocking, a stage persona, and—of course—effective lip syncing! It was so impressive to watch each performer bring their unique magic to the “stage.” We are super excited that some of them plan to bring their skills to a real stage for our Showcase this year!
