Produced by Lightfoot Productions LLC Video Transcript: hi I'm Jayme Shimooka owner and artistic director of Studio Dansu and this is Acro 101 [Music] today for acro 101 we're going to continue working on our cartwheels so we follow the acrobatic Arts curriculum and they have a specific way to start and end their cartwheel what we like to do is start with a strong tondu forward with strong arms out in front of us as the student goes down into the cartwheel they're going to turn their arms perform a cartwheel as normal and then we like to do what I call a rainbow out or really it's a way to transfer the weight so as the dancer comes out of the cartwheel they're transferring their weight into that other foot and the reason acrobatic arts does this is because then we can put the cartwheel into any

Produced by Lightfoot Productions LLC Video Transcript: this is my first year teaching here at dansu I actually used to own a studio of my own but now I enjoy teaching for other people I've been teaching ballet Jazz tap and lyrical as my main Specialties but I've also studied hula Irish modern lots of different styles musical theater I have a degree in dance therapy with a minor in theater from uw-whitewater and I'm a member of dance masters of Wisconsin as well as the Chicago National Association of dance Masters I started taking those classes when I was three years old my aunt signed me up for class and started taking me and I've been taking dance ever since then adding more classes As I Grew and eventually performing with the Rockford ballet before going on to college and starting teaching I got my degree in dance therapy and found out that I didn't really like bei
