Mark and Katie and the whole Swing It Seattle team have truly built something special. They are keeping Frankie Manning’s legacy and the tradition of Lindy Hop alive and well in Seattle, and they do it through masterful teaching, dedication to building community, and creating a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere for all. I can’t imagine the amount of work that goes into doing what they do every.single.week. It’s clearly a passion for them, and that passion is contagious. In these uncertain times, joining their classes and dance socials is medicine for the heart. Come try it out, meet lovely people, and dance in defiance of your worries. You won’t regret it!

Had such a great time here for the social dance. There was a very short introductory lesson beforehand, which was nice, but if you've never done swing dance before, you might want to sign up for a dedicated class. There was a live band—The Weather Birds—and they were excellent!

Swing It Seattle has been a fun, safe place for me and my family to have a great time together. I do not come from a dance background, but Mark and Katie break it down so well that I have confidence when I attend social dances. My family, who do come from dancing backgrounds, also enjoy their lessons. How fun it is to dance with my partner and kid at home and at social dances. We have taken partner dancing from beginning to advanced as well as solo jazz and choreography classes. Swing It Seattle has been great for me to get out of my shell amongst strangers and friends. I particularly love the ethos of inclusivity and respect that are part of their teaching as well.

Mark is a GREAT teacher. Have been taking Lindy Hop classes and just did a shim sham workshop this week. It’s always so much fun and his teaching style makes it really easy to learn. I also took a private lesson and it was absolutely worth it. Mark’s partner Katie and the other students are totally enjoyable, it’s a terrific way to have fun, relax, and get a little exercise!
