  These studios seem like scams (look at Reddit). I took a class through ClassPass that was Ballroom Classics. The most basic moves were taught for 20 minutes (with little instruction about proper arm technique or head tilt - just the foot steps). And then they taught a Thriller line dance for 20 minutes. I was confused why this was taught in a Ballroom class until they said they planned for their members to perform the line dance at their Halloween party and solicited us to sign up to be a member. The class was only 40 minutes and I only learned the bare basics of Foxtrot. I think this is their scheme to get you to attend more classes because the pace is incredibly slow. If you want to advance in ballroom skills, this is not the place.

In our beginner (“Classics”) ballroom classes, we focus on teaching the foundational footwork and timing so that no one in the class feels left behind. This pace allows everyone—especially those brand new to dance—to build confidence and comfort before moving on to more detailed technique, which is typically covered in private lessons. We also like to include something fun and seasonal (like a short themed line dance) to help students relax, enjoy themselves, and see how common movement patterns appear across different dance styles. Our goal is for everyone to feel comfortable moving and having fun on the dance floor, not just focusing on a polished final product. Rest assured of course, this is not something that happens often, as you can see from all the other positive reviews in here. We appreciate your comments and hope you might consider visiting again for a private lesson or another group class to experience a different side of our studio community.   The instructors have always been so fun and welcoming! I’ve been going for a couple months through ClassPass and started bringing friends!

  Fred Astaire Dance Studios - West University is the perfect place if you love to dance or simply want to give it a try. It is full of fun, passionate, and talented instructors who are dedicated to making their students better while having a great time. Personally, I have seen my dancing ability improve exponentially and look forward to class every day. I strongly recommend stopping by the studio as my review cannot accurately describe how fun the classes are, how beautiful the studio is, and how much the instructors care about their students.
