Rene and Lindsay are both instructor you can really learn from. In contrast to other dance studios instructors, there is real, evident progress from class to class. The shortcoming? they don't have the Internet presence that Marina Del Rey's By Your Side has.

I celebrated my big birthday at the beautiful, enormous By Your Side Dance Studio in Marina Del Rey that overlooks gorgeous sunsets. Reasonably priced, it can hold up to 100 people although I only had about 40. You can cater your own food, although you can rent chairs, tables and tablecloths directly from them. The owner is a pleasure to work with and was so helpful and accommodating to make sure everything was exactly as I wanted. I turned my party into an elegant affair, although I imagine a retro or trendy theme would also work great. I highly recommend it for any event!

This review is specifically for our amazing instructor, Sindy. From the moment we met her for our first wedding dance lesson, she made us feel completely at ease. She came up with our routine on the spot and tailored it perfectly to our vibe and skill level. Her teaching style is clear, encouraging, and so supportive – even through all our mistakes, she was patient and upbeat. Sindy has years of experience, and it shows in the way she breaks down each move and makes the whole process enjoyable. Thanks to her, our first dance turned out so graceful and smooth – and it was to a fun, upbeat song that she helped us bring to life beautifully. It felt like us, and we got so many compliments. We couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Sindy is truly the best – kind, professional, and completely dedicated to helping her couples shine. We’re so grateful for her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone wanting to feel confident and look great on the dance floor.

I recommend bachata, hustle, and swing! I had fun here and enjoyed the social environment. There were not as many young adults to socialize with as I would have liked, though. I also did ballet here, which is beginner-level and good for older adults.

Laura is one the most creative and talented dance teachers. On our very first dance lesson, she surprised us by creating an unforgettable dance routine for our wedding’s first dance on the spot while listening to the song for the first time. The dance was to the dramatic song “Writings on the Wall” by Sam Smith. She incorporated ballroom dance moves, beautiful lifts, and spins. Our wedding guests loved it! I would recommend Laura to any couple wanting to do private dance lessons for their first dance. It was one of the highlights of our wedding.

I went by the studio and the Culver city location was closed but the website shows the studio is open. I called the list number on the website and the gentlemen didn't have any phone etiquette, unprofessional, and willingness to assist. I was disappointed but I'm glad I had this experience.
