Delete your account

In-app deletion

1. Open Bailar
2. Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account
3. Confirm with the 6-digit code we text/email you

Your account is soft-deleted immediately — you can't sign in, your profile disappears from other users, and DMs show "user has left Bailar". Hard deletion happens 30 days later; during that window you can recover by signing in again.

What gets deleted

• Your profile, display name, and photo
• Your RSVPs, bookmarks, saved items
• Your reviews (option to keep them anonymous)
• Your DMs (recipients keep their copy of messages you sent — we can't reach into their inbox)
• Your payment methods stored in-app

What stays (and why)

• Aggregate usage metrics (no personal identifiers) for trend analysis
• Required records for tax, fraud, or legal compliance — retained as long as the law requires, then deleted
• Subscription records kept for 7 years for audit

Export before deletion

Go to Profile → Settings → Privacy → Export my data. You'll get a ZIP with your profile, RSVPs, DMs, bookmarks, and reviews. Processing takes up to 48 hours; we email when it's ready.

Web-only deletion request

If you never installed the app, or you lost access to your phone, visit bailar.site/legal/data-deletion and submit the form. We'll verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.
