Events & RSVPs
RSVPs and bookmarks
How RSVPs work, how to bookmark for later, and how reminders fire.
RSVPs
Tap I'm going on an event — it tells us (and other dancers) you're going. RSVPs are public by default: anyone can see who's going on the event's RSVP list. To go private, turn on Private account (Profile tab → Settings, in the Accounts Center at the top) — then only your approved followers see your RSVPs.
Once you RSVP:
- Your next upcoming event shows on the Home tab as an "Up next" card with a Going badge, and all of them live under My Events.
- You get a push reminder before the event starts — choose 30 minutes, 1 hour (the default), 3 hours, or 1 day ahead under Profile tab → Settings → Notifications → Event Reminders.
- Tap Add to Calendar on the event page any time to save it to your system calendar — you'll be asked for calendar access the first time.
Bookmarks
If you're not sure, bookmark instead. Use the bookmark icon on any event or studio card.
Bookmarks are private: no one can see what you bookmarked, or that you were the one who bookmarked it. Events and studios do show a public running total ("12 saved"), but never who.
Your saved events and studios live under Profile tab → Settings → Saved. Everything starts in All saved, and you can group things into named collections yourself — see below.
Saved events also appear under the Saved tab of My Events (menu ☰ → Saved). That view is deliberately broader: it shows your bookmarks plus anything you marked Interested, with saved studios in their own section underneath.
Collections
Want your saves grouped — "Bachata Tuesdays", "Try this month"? Open an event or studio and long-press the bookmark icon. A sheet comes up letting you drop it into a collection, or create one on the spot. Anything you haven't filed stays under All saved.
You can create, rename, re-emoji and delete collections from Profile tab → Settings → Saved. Deleting a collection never deletes what's inside it — those items go back to All saved.
Cancelling an RSVP
Open the event. The main button is green and reads You're going — tapping it just re-opens your going card, where you can invite friends or jump into the event chat. To cancel, tap the small red ✕ next to it. That takes effect immediately, with no confirmation step.
No hard feelings — cancellations are silent. The organizer sees the new count, not who changed their mind.
Recurring events
A weekly social shows up as one card: the next occurrence that hasn't happened yet. Once that night passes, the following week takes its place. To look further ahead, open the Calendar — it lists every occurrence on its own date.
RSVPing to one night doesn't auto-RSVP you to the rest; that'd be too much.
Bookmarking a weekly social saves the whole series rather than that single night, so it stays in your saved list and rolls forward to the next occurrence on its own. Bookmark the studio as well if you want to keep an eye on everything that venue runs.
