Local GuideGoogleIve always wanted to learn bachata and be able to dance at socials. Someone suggested Inlakech to me, I don't come from a dance background and didn't even know countings 12345678, but decided to give it a try and do their Wednesday drop in classes consistently for couple months, then maestra Jahaira mentioned they have begginer and intermediate series, I joined all the series and now can proudly dance at socials. I only found out months later after joining, the maestras are professional dancers and have won many dance competitions, so I was learning from pros all along. This dance school is really about community too, treating everyone with love, kindness, respect and judgement free zone. Anyone can lead or follow, they teach it all. I also tried their kizomba class and will be doing some drop in salsa classes to change up my foot work. Highly Recommend this dance school👍

Local GuideGoogleThis is THE SPOT to dance! Salsa, bachata, merengue, their monthly Queer Sabor dance parties -- literally anything they offer, sign up and it's going to be the best time with the most delightful people. And though it might seem like a silly question, you do not have to identify as queer to dance here! It's just a dance space that's very intentional about welcoming all identities, though the majority of folks are BIPOC and queer. I've been dancing at different salsa & bachata spots around the Bay for almost 2 years now and this is the first place I found where lead & follow dance roles aren't assumed to fall along gendered lines, which was such a breath of fresh air after usually being the only femme lead in a room. The maestras are great teachers and great people who have created such a beautiful community, and I can't believe we get to be a part of it. At their classes I've met folks who drive in from literally hours away because this space is that magical. Can't recommend it highly enough. On a practical note: there's plenty of free parking out front and in the neighborhood. At first glance the entrance might be hard to spot, but it's there! One more thing: although sometimes they only offer salsa on2 classes, I still dance on1 at the Queer Sabor parties they host and I've never had a problem finding folks to dance with. Many people can switch between on1/on2, and many can switch between being lead/follow too.
