Cielo Dance Events

Top-notch event, very welcoming and fun for both beginners and advanced dancers. I started Salsa and Bachata few years ago and now I can go to these event by myself without social fear. There are social events everyday in my area, Orange County and Los Angeles. I keep going to this event because all the instructors are very knowledgeable and gives me aha-moment during the class and music by famous DJs are always on point. The environment is wonderfully created by host, Luis, who cares very much about his crews and all the dancers who come. Luis is talented instructor and DJ as well. He has regular events on Tuesdays Saturdays, and Sundays and other days on top of that. You should check out their IG and FB for more info!

Luis Aragon is an instructor that truly cares about the technique, form, habit and foundation of dancers of all levels. As a personal trainer, I value instructors that aren't just good at a skill, but can also teach it in a way any average Joe can learn and be able to scale their teaching to the baseline skill level of the student. A lot of people are great dancers but it is rare someone can articulate rhythm, syncopation, form, and technique to someone that knows nothing about it. Anyone new at anything is in a very vulnerable zone where they need to see the end of their learning curve and know they are capable of eventually getting better to continue showing up and not quitting. Luis bridges that gap. His semi private classes are intimate and he will join in and dance with the students so they can feel the proper form. Most studios only have students dance with students but he encourages a humble culture where students feel welcome to not only learn from but also dance WITH their instructors. This is why I returned to cielo as a repeat student. If you feel like you're not cut out for dance, give him a try. He may change your mind!
