Kizomba in
Bridgeport.

Every kizomba social, studio, and class — all in one place.

Kizomba is an Angolan partner dance built on a long, slow connection — close frame, walking rhythm, the follow reading the lead through the chest, not the hands. It came up through the Lusophone world (Angola, Cape Verde, Portugal) and landed in US rooms via festival circuits in the late 2010s. Urban kiz — the newer, funkier variant — is what you'll hear in most American kiz nights. Semba is the faster, more acrobatic cousin that tends to show up later in the evening.

The frame is everything. A kiz lesson will spend 20 minutes on just the close embrace before teaching a single step. That's not wasted time — it's how the whole dance works. Expect a smaller, tighter community than salsa or bachata.
