Sensual bachata is the modern fork that came up through Spain in the 2010s — slower tempos, body waves, isolations, and a closer frame than the traditional Dominican style. It's now the dominant look in most US bachata rooms, though good scenes still mix in the Dominican footwork. The song and the partner decide how much sensual the dance actually gets.

Start with the four-count basic and the side step before any wave or dip — sensual looks advanced but is built on the same simple frame as all bachata. A beginner series helps here because the body movement is easy to do badly without an eye on you.
