Reggaeton is the Latin urban sound that exploded out of Puerto Rico in the 2000s. It's less a partner dance than the other styles on this list — more solo choreo, more hip isolation, more individual rhythm. Social reggaeton does exist, especially in younger scenes, but most reggaeton movement happens in choreo classes and at open-format Latin nights where the DJ mixes it into salsa and bachata sets.

Start with a choreo class — reggaeton builds on bounce and hip control, not a partner basic. Once the rhythm sits in your body, the social version comes easily. Don't expect the same lead-and-follow grammar as salsa; this one is its own thing.
