Your privacy controls

Bailar defaults to conservative visibility. Here's exactly what's what, and how to change it.

Public by default

• Display name + photo on your profile
• Dance styles you practice (you can hide individual styles)
• RSVPs to events — visible to other attendees of the same event

Private by default

• Your phone number, email, and exact location
• Direct messages (we never train on them, we never sell them)
• Bookmarks and saved items
• Your full event history

Adjustable

Go to Profile → Privacy & visibility to change:

• Who can DM you — Everyone, People going to same event, People you follow, Nobody
• Who sees your RSVPs — Attendees, Friends only, Private (only you)
• Whether your profile appears in search
• Whether verified instructors can see your name in their booking requests

Instructor & studio opt-out

If you're a verified instructor and you don't want a public web profile at bailar.site/instructors/your-name, go to Profile → Public web profile and toggle off. Unverified instructors are private by default — you opt in, not out.
