Sal and Erica do such a great job teaching the bachata and salsa classes. Each month they start a new routine in the classes beyond the level 1 class so you’re always learning something new. It’s a big group so it’s a great set up even if you don’t come with a partner.

Really was looking forward to trying out this experience but feel like I wasted my money on this groupon. Since joining online and going through all the hoops, I still haven’t been able to successfully book a visit. I tried calling and the condescending guy answered and just referred me to the website. I bet it’s nice but I’ll never know.

    Response from Amaya Dance

Hi James, I’m really sorry to hear about your experience — that’s definitely not the way we want anyone to feel when trying to visit our studio. Our goal is always to make the registration process simple and welcoming, so I truly apologize if we missed the mark here. Booking with Groupon sometimes requires a couple of extra steps, and I’d be happy to personally help you get everything set up so you don’t lose the value of your purchase. You can reach me directly at amayadancetx@gmail.com or 713-231-8290, and I’ll take care of it for you. We truly appreciate you giving us a try, and I hope we get the chance to turn this around for you. — AMAYA Dance Studio

I started going to Amaya Dance in July after signing up for a ladies styling class through Groupon, and it’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve made. Erika is incredibly talented and intentional about creating a safe, welcoming space that promotes confidence and body positivity. She is always encouraging, supportive, and makes everyone, no matter their experience level, feel comfortable and included. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow your salsa and bachata skills and feel a genuine sense of community, Amaya Dance is absolutely the place to be.

I moved to Houston a couple of months ago and tried several salsa and bachata studios. I chose Amaya Dance because the classes are fun and usually crowded, so you get to dance with people of different skill levels and learn faster. The instructor is very passionate about teaching, regardless of the class level — he brings the same energy to beginners and advanced students alike. This really motivates lower-level dancers to keep improving. The people are also very friendly, and it’s easy to find practice partners at social events. They host one social per month, which is always a great time!

Recently rented Amaya Dance Studio to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. I was so appreciative of the way the owner, Salomon Amaya, manages his business. He was clear, kind, and communicative. The process of renting the space and booking a private dance lesson for the group was perfect. Karen and Brian were brilliant instructors. I genuinely recommend people attending class there and renting from them for your future parties.
