Latin dance in Phoenix

Phoenix's Latin scene has grown fast. A decade ago you'd struggle to find a weeknight social; now there's one most nights of the week, and the regional congress scene pulls dancers from Tucson, Las Vegas, and across the Southwest.

Downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe host the big socials. Mesa and Glendale run the studios. Kizomba and urban kiz have an unusually strong following here — the Phoenix kizomba community is one of the most active in the country relative to city size. Summer weeknight socials run late to escape the daytime heat.

Arizona is hot — summer socials often don't start until 10pm or later to let the day cool. Check start times carefully. Hydrate seriously; altitude and heat both matter.
